Отворен форум “Дигитализация и иновации за културно наследство” ще събере в София водещи експерти в опазването и представянето на недвижимо културно наследство от България и Европа. Събитието ще се състои на 16 и 17 април в София по случай Международния ден за опазване на паметниците на културата. Четвъртият международен форум, организиран от фондация “Проект Бузлуджа”, поставя въпроса за връзката между наследство и технологии, между традиции и инновации, между минало и бъдеще.

Форумът ще бъде открит с встъпителна реч от арх. Греам Бел, член на борда на директорите на най-голямата европейска асоциация за опазване на културното наследство – Европа Ностра. Събитието ще бъде сцена за премиерата на дигиталния двойник на монумент Бузлуджа. В 3Д виртуална среда всеки ще може да влезе в монумент Бузлуджа, да разгледа актуалното и оригиналното състояние на изключителната сграда, да научи повече за нея и да избере бъдеще за обекта. Посетителите на форума ще имат възможността за първи път да изпробват това интерактивно изживяване и да дадат своята обратна връзка. Всеки желаещ ще може да участва в работилница за създаване на разкази и да представи своята визия за това как разказваме Бузлуджа и какво представлява тя днес.

The afternoon program begins with a presentation by Dr. Riin Alatalu, Vice President of ICOMOS. This panel will highlight innovative ways of communicating complex heritage from Estonia, Italy, and Spain. Professor Patrick Leech, long-time director of ATRIUM — a Council of Europe cultural route — will also speak. 

The final panel of the day focuses on digital experiences for museums. Alison Bearley, Digital Collections Specialist at the House of European History, will present the museum’s digital strategy and how it was developed. The session will also showcase impressive Bulgarian examples of digitalization, including Heraclea Sintica, Hisarya, Magura Cave, and others. 

The second day opens with a keynote by Prof. Jörg Haspel, Honorary President of ICOMOS Germany and recipient of the highest German award for lifetime contribution to cultural heritage preservation. Three Bulgarian projects will present innovative conservation practices: the Cultural Center in Vratsa, the Thracian tomb “Ostrusha,” and Provadia–Solnitsata — the second Bulgarian site awarded the European Heritage Label.   

Програмата продължава с представянето на културното наследство в градовете чрез интерактивни формати и технологии. Примери от Белград, Пловдив и София ще покажат как запалват любопитството чрез турове, игри и изкуствен интелект. Панелът ще открие Лидия Шуица, член на борда на директорите на Европейската асоциация на преподавателите по история “EuroClio”.

The closing panel focuses on digital databases, registers, and maps that support heritage inventorying and enable direct communication with the public. It will be opened by Klara Nagy, coordinator of Europa Nostra’s “7 Most Endangered” program. Two global platforms will be presented — one for controversial heritage sites worldwide and one for monumental art from the socialist era. The panel will also feature interactive maps and registers of Bulgarian mineral baths, Varna’s cultural heritage, and the heritage of Bulgarian villages. 

The event will take place at the BIAD Concert Hall of FNTS, 108 Georgi S. Rakovski Street. Participation is free with prior registration. The working languages are Bulgarian and English, with simultaneous interpretation provided.

The forum presents the final results of the two‑year project “Developing an Inclusive Process for Communicating Controversial Heritage”, funded by the EU’s Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) program. The project is led by the Buzludzha Project Foundation in partnership with the University of Bologna (Faculty of Architecture), the European Observatory on Memories (EUROM) in Barcelona, ATRIUM – Cultural Route of the Council of Europe, and EuroClio. The event is supported by the Federation of Scientific and Technical Unions in Bulgaria, the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Sofia, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation Bulgaria, Baumit Bulgaria, and PERI Bulgaria.
