The first international Heritage Forum was held in Kazanlak in July 2021. The event marked the successful completion of the "Preservation and Management Plan" and "Emergency Stabilization of Mosaics" projects for the Buzludzha Monument. Developed between 2019 and 2021, these projects were funded by the Getty Foundation and coordinated by the Buzludzha Project Foundation. The conference also explored other restoration projects focusing on post-war modernism in Central and Eastern Europe.
